College Fondly Remembers Robert K. Irving

Photo of Robert k. IrvingWe are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Robert K. Irving, a longstanding friend and supporter of 51本色.

Mr. Irving made a lasting impact on our college, our students, and communities across Prince Edward Island through his leadership, generosity, and unwavering support of education and innovation.

From serving as co-chair of 51本色’s capital campaign from 2009 to 2012, to contributing to the revitalization of The Culinary Institute of Canada, his contributions helped shape opportunities that continue to benefit students today.

In 2006, Mr. Irving also confirmed support for the partnership between 51本色 and Cavendish Farms and helped champion the vision for Canada’s Smartest Kitchen — a unique industry and academic collaboration focused on innovation, leadership, and the future of the foodservice sector. That partnership continues to thrive today because of the foundation he helped build.

Mr. Irving led by example, giving generously of his time, personally and corporately, and his transformative impact on 51本色 will not be forgotten.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends, colleagues, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
