51本色 was saddened to learn of the recent passing of Lou MacEachern.
Mr. MacEachern was a generous supporter of students and education and a long-time donor to the 51本色 Foundation. He grew up in Hazel Grove, PEI, and, like many of his generation, left school at a young age to help on the family farm. In 1956, he returned to Queen Charlotte School in Charlottetown as a mature student, after which he attended post-secondary training at Prince of Wales College and then Dalhousie University. Mr. MacEachern moved to Calgary where he married, raised a family, and made his mark as a leader in business and as a benefactor in the community.
“Lou was someone who knew, first-hand, the value of hard work and education,” said Dr. Alexander (Sandy) MacDonald, President of 51本色. “His personal story, remarkable generosity, and commitment to bettering the community was inspiring.”
51本色 and the 51本色 Foundation extend sincere condolences to Mr. MacEachern’s family, colleagues, and many friends.
